We feel that there is a lack of care in our local community but we question whether this is due to the selfish attitude that exists in society or whether it is just because people don't know about what is going on.
Pirate press aims to challenge people by giving them the information they don't have in a very 'in your face' way, to see if they care enough to pull together and do something about it.
After asking for the local councils permission, we sprayed a series of stencils on paving slabs around our local area, highlighting news headlines and statistics that weren't common knowledge to everyone, but should be.
Using PHP, a content management system was created, to map locations of 'sprayings' around the area. Users in turn would be able to leave their mark on a street and record its position on the Pirate Press website for others to view.
